Cast iron radiators

Cast iron heating radiators are still considered the most popular in the entire post-Soviet space. When winter comes and reliable and practical heating radiators are required, a cast -iron version is selected.

They have many advantages on which it is worth focusing.

First of all, it should be noted an exclusively long life.

Description of the article:

If the coolant pressure is at an acceptable standard level, t. e. no more than 7-8 atmospheres, then cast-iron radiators with wall thickness up to 2-3 mm are able to serve more than 30-40 years. And all thanks to the good old material called gray cast iron. Not all potential buyers of thermal equipment know that the term of steel radiators is only 8-10 years, and the “latest” aluminum radiators last a little longer. The thing is that the classic cast iron tends to corrode slowly.

Steel

And steel, coupled with aluminum, tends to rapid corrosion in public heating systems, in which, as you know, the quality of the coolant leaves much to be desired ..

Moreover, if the system of public heating observes the extremely low quality of the coolant (it will have free oxygen), then the life of aluminum and steel radiators will be even less!

Cast iron radiators are appreciated among specialists and the fact that you can collect full -fledged radiators of any power to the customer.

Cast iron

This fact is explained-the standard MS-130 section can successfully cool up to 2 m2 of the internal area. And if you assemble a radiator of 10 sections, then it can easily heat up to 20 m2 of premises. And the room will really be warm. Moreover, in the cast -iron section you can install a tap crane, thanks to which it will be possible to shade the accumulated air cork at home.

And the radiator will not have to be installed with a slightly large gradient, as is observed in relation to aluminum radiators. After all, you can open the crane and calmly release the accumulated air.

Cast iron radiators have another obvious advantage – price. Not all buyers can afford the latest aluminum and even more so bimetallic radiators. And if you correctly install solid cast -iron radiators, using acetylene gas welding and steel pipes for these purposes, they will serve for many decades.
