Maslar tape in repair work.

Maslar tape.

Maslar tape (strength, painting tape, mounted tape) is a paper -based tape, which on one side is covered with adhesive substance. In the manufacture of painting tape, paper with a small corrugation is taken as the basis. One side of such a paper is covered with specially selected rubber or acrylic adhesive layer. The corrugated base allows you to delay the paint on the surface and provides reliable fastening even when it is used on uneven surfaces. The adhesive composition is made in such a way that it is easy to remove from the surface. At the same time, there are no traces of glue.

The specificity of such an adhesive layer explains the widespread use of painting tape, which, by the way, you can easily find here if desired. In most cases, of course, adhesive tape is used to limit painted zones, or to protect the surface from paint during the repair work. The area that needs to be protected from pollution is glued with painting tape or glue polyethylene, or paper (the material is glued to a painting tape to about the middle of the width of the tape canvas and the resulting canvas for protection is glued to the surface that must be secured). Upon completion of the plaster and machine work, the adhesive tape is removed, and there is only a flat edge on which there are no subterations and other defects.

Malar tapes are applicable in paintwork and finishing work during construction in order to limit the field of painting, as well as to consolidate the coating that protects the surface. During painting windows, with masking tape, the frames and joints of the glass are sealed.

The use of painting tape is also common in everyday life. It is used to seal the cracks in the window frames during the winter – the tape fits well on the surface of the frame, does not peel off, and in the spring is removed without much effort, leaving no traces. With it, you can carry out minor repairs of brochures, books, cards, posters, gluing tears and holes in the paper canvas.
