Quartz vinyl PVC tiles are a modern multilayer coating that consists of two main elements. The first is river sand, which is responsible for the wear resistance of the material. The second is a polymer that provides it with elasticity. Of course, the composition is not limited to them.
The plate consists of several layers:
Base made of polyvinyl chloride. It forms good adhesion to the floor.
Reinforcing. It is usually made of fiberglass. It increases the strength of the coating and protects it from thermal deformation. Thanks to this, quartz vinyl tiles can be used for underfloor heating: they will not lose their shape under the influence of high temperatures. For a better effect, some manufacturers add two reinforcing layers.
Basic. The thickest layer of polymers and natural quartz. It is the high content of the latter (can reach 75-80%) that makes quartz vinyl environmentally friendly.
Decorative. It is made of different materials, high-quality photo printing is applied to the surface, which imitates the texture of wood, stone, etc.
Protective. The top part of the coating consists of a mixture of polyurethane and aluminum oxide, it is a thin film. It protects the plates from abrasion, mechanical damage and dust.
Like laminate, quartz vinyl cladding is divided into classes, but they do not indicate strength in general, but wear resistance. This parameter is affected exclusively by the thickness of the upper protective layer. There are 10 classes in total (from 21 to 43)
