To date, the drilling of wells has acquired particular relevance. In fact, this type of activity will always be relevant. However, such a lesson is accompanied by considerable costs, because the cost of drilling rigs is quite high. Therefore, to make the right purchase, it is necessary to clearly represent the tasks with which the installation must cope.
Literally over the past year there was a small coup in the drilling industry. It turns out that large drill installations have gone out of fashion and now everyone prefers to use small machines that have high power. Small drilling devices are divided into two types:
Hydraulic.
Electric.
Electric ones are more popular due to their cost, however, during operation, drillers are faced with various disadvantages of this device. Therefore, experts advise to give preference to drill units with hydraulic drives. The fact is that they are more powerful and cope with a large number of tasks.
Advantages of hydraulic installations over electrical
First of all, I would like to note the power. The hydraulic drive is several times higher than the electric in this indicator, and this, in turn, allows you to drill more solid rocks at lower costs. The power of the hydraulic drive increases due to an increase in torque. As a result, the installation can drill not only more solid rocks than electric, but also to a greater depth. Thanks to the high torque, the pipe is screwed in a mechanical mode, that is, the intervention of the operator is minimal.
The second advantage of the hydraulic installation should include the supply of drilling tools and the descent of the rock. In the case of electric – a winch is used, which in turn is accompanied by a rather serious risk. The hydraulic drive in this case is much safer and better.
In the hydraulic machine, the load on the drill is axial, in addition, it can be adjusted. In fact, the axial load directly affects the speed of drilling, that is, the larger the load, the faster the process goes.
Different problems often occur during hard drilling. You can’t insure yourself from such situations, even if you have many years of drilling experience behind you, but you need to be prepared for them. It should be noted that the hydraulic installation copes much better and faster with such incidents than electrical.
