Building material is a silicate brick.

Silicate brick is a relatively new type of building material, the manufacture of which has become available with the introduction of new technologies into production. The source materials for the creation are quartz sand and lime, also a small share of additives, including dyes. Silicate brick is available in the form of ordinary rectangular bricks, also in other geometric forms of simplifying the construction of complex and artistic sites of construction. A brick with air cavities is also produced, which in turn reduces the cost of production. Such a brick has a smaller load on the foundation and the best indicators of thermo – and sound insulation to the detriment of strength.

The advantages of silicate brick can be attributed;

1. Environmental friendliness, since it is made from natural materials.

2. High soundproofing, due to which silicate brick is widely used in the construction of partitions in residential buildings.

3. Frost resistance, a large number of freezing and thawing cycles.

4. High strength.

The disadvantages of silicate brick are:

1. Low water resistance, which is why the strength and thermal insulation properties of bricks suffer. What makes it categorically unsuitable for the use of foundations and other structures subject to significant effects of moisture.

2. Low heat resistance that makes it unsuitable in the construction of objects of high temperature.

In general, silicate brick is a modern building material – a wide range of application. The best prices for a full -bodied construction brick is offered by the Smolensk Brick plant.
