Construction of a wooden house in winter

It is accepted that winter is far from the most suitable time for all construction work. Almost all experts adhere to this opinion. And yet, it happens in reality that it is simply impossible to avoid all construction work during the cold – there is no such possibility. You can’t wait several months at once, while all snow melts and all frosts subside. How to act in such a situation? If in winter it is necessary to engage in construction. It is worth noting right away that in winter construction is a more complex in the technological plan and a more expensive process, because it is on the accuracy of compliance with all instructions and all methods that directly depends on the entire strength of the finished house. The whole situation is simplified only by the fact that in all current winters there are not in all cases severe frosts, and therefore temperatures in the region of +5 degrees in winter do not surprise anyone at all. At the same time, at temperatures below zero degrees, especially with the most severe frosts, it is necessary to take special measures during the construction. If the temperature drops below -20 degrees, then all construction work is simply temporarily suspended. In the very cold season, you can always engage in the construction of a house made of wood, for example, lay a log house. In winter, by the way, quite often they also do all the roofing work.

In winter, the basis of wooden construction is the most basic properties and some characteristics of wood. The tree in winter and contains a comparative way very little moisture against the background of the entire summer period, and in winter it does not evaporate during construction, but simply freezes. This whole process occurs quite evenly, which provides the most uniform contractions on the foundation pressure. Already closer to the middle of the spring, this whole process is completely stopped, which provides smoothing a variety of cracks.

In view of a very large level of moisture content of all timber in the warm season, there is much more dispute in the tree, a variety of larvae, parasites and fungi. In winter, the whole problem is not so significant, so the entire risk of damage to wooden houses is greatly reduced in winter. As a rule, in the cold, the fungus does not survive at all. The fungus is also not afraid of a dry log, from which all moisture is also frozen. And yet, a very strong cold can make wood the most fragile, and therefore all carpentry work in the winter is best reduced to minimum. In winter, you should only collect the entire structure of the house from previously prepared shade products.
