Advantages of metal tiles

Natural tiles are, of course, very aesthetically pleasing. But it is quite expensive and at the same time, given the harsh Russian winters, it is not very practical – the pores in its material absorb moisture, which during frosts can cause cracks and after a while the complete destruction of the elements of such a roofing. But for the true connoisseurs of a high -style house, there is an alternative, cheaper and at the same time more resistant to low temperatures and other atmospheric factors – metal tiles.

In addition to relatively low cost and durability, it still has a number of qualities useful for the consumer. One of them is relatively small weight. The mass of a square meter is from three to five kilograms, which facilitates its delivery and installation. Two qualified roofers can lay about 100 square meters in one working day. m. Such coating. Another advantage of using this light material is the lack of need for additional strengthening the roof frame, since it does not create serious loads on it.

Roof update

It is also an undoubted advantage that when updating the roof covered with metal tiles, there is no need to dismantle the old coating – the new can be laid directly on top of it, while the old will work as additional heat – and the waterproofing layer. And finally, the technology for the production of metal tiles allows you to paint it in any color, so everyone who has made a choice in its favor will be able to choose something perfect for the general architectural style and color scheme of the design of their home.

Metal tile

The metal tile is made of hot rolled steel sheet, the thickness of which in the ideal case does not exceed 0.5 mm. A coating of several layers is applied to it. The first layer is zinc, the second is an anti -corrosion coating, the third is a primer, the fourth is a polymer. From polymers, polyester, plastisol and pool are used.

The latter option is considered the most practical, since at a fairly low price, it provides an acceptable level of protection against high temperatures and chemical exposure. The first two are recommended for use in places with moderate climate – their temperature resistance is slightly lower, but they differ in a more pleasant appearance. The use of polyester, for example, allows you to get both matte and glossy coating, and the plastisol has a pattern resembling the texture of the leather.
